Customize Missing from WordPress Theme? Here’s Solution

If you are new to WordPress themes based on Gutenberg blocks, such as the latest Twenty Twenty-Four, you may notice that the Customize option in the WordPress’ admin section is missing. Instead, the block-based themes use the Site Editor to customize the look of your WordPress site.

Nevertheless, although the Customize button is missing, you can still access its interface easily.

Just go to:

https://example.com/wp-admin/customize.php

The Customize panel will show up on the left side, just like in the old non-blocks themes.

You can use the old-school Customize if you want, but all of its functionalities are available in the new Site Editor. For instance you can change the site title and tagline in the Site Editor by simply clicking on them and edit the text. Plus, you can customize their styles right away on the Site Editor’s right panel. Furthermore, the Customize interface have been oftentimes used to add additional CSS code snippets to customize your theme. You can access the same Additional CSS text field in the Styles section of the Site Editor.
